What I plan to do with my one wild and precious life...

Thank you to Mary Oliver for this inspiring line from The Summer Day. I come back to it over and over again because it reminds of how I want to live my life: awake.

So as I woke this first day of 2019, aware that my mind was already a jumble of goals and dreams and fears, I paused. I reminded my busy, prone-to-worry mind of what meditation continues to teach me: that it is possible to be deeply present, and know that my attention to life is what allows the magic of it to be known to me.

May this new year be all that we are dreaming of, and may we be awake for it.
